Why Is This Jig So Effective?
The “Tight Line Tackle” fishing team is made up of a handful of Guides, Tournament Anglers and general walleye fishing addicts. Between us we have over 150 years of jigging experience on the Detroit River. Several years ago, we decided to apply all that experience to defining “The Perfect Detroit River Walleye Jig.” Turns out, that was pretty easy to come up with:
It had to be heavy enough to handle deep water and fast current.
It had to provide a slow, natural fall.
It had to cut the current so it could move naturally and vertically on the worst days.
It had to be snag resistant.
It had to work well with a “Slip On” Stinger Hook.
And, it had to have a wide gapped hook that was absolutely sticky sharp.
When we set out to design a jig that possessed all those features, we came up with the T-Rex and we couldn’t be happier with the way it’s performed. Not only on the Detroit River, but the Saginaw River, the St. Claire River and the Lake Erie Reefs as well.
